Saturday we were off for another Zwickelmania adventure. Zwickelmania is an event organized by the Oregon Craft Brewers Guild where many of the breweries in Portland open up there facilities for educational tours. This is one of the few beer events I still do as I always learn something new about brewing and crafts beers. Often the brewmaster are on hand to ask questions and give first hand knowledge about brewing beer and the industry. And they give out free beer samples.

This year there were six of us for the adventure. I had a list of eleven possible places to walk to in inner SE Portland in the five hour the event takes place. We manage to get to eight and half. We got to Bearlic Brewing, Grixen Brewing, Ground Breaker Brewing, Scout Beer, Lucky Lab Hawthorne, Hair of the Dog, Wayfinder Beer and Mt. Talbot Brewing. Our half was Nation Brewery which we stopped into their taproom after the event was over just to take a look around.

We were lucky the weather cooperated, the brewmasters were happy the share info, the beer samples were interesting and the crowds were small. I look forward to next year’s Zwickelmania.
