This was my first time to visit the Portland International Beerfest. It found some interesting beers to try even though it was a little expensive. I tried a couple of German dopplebocks for the first time and one was quite good. This festival has both draft beers by mostly local breweries and bottle beer, which were mostly foreign beers. The event draws a lot of people but is all contained in one city block so no way enough space. In spit of the crowd and expense it can be place to sample some hard to find beer styles.
First time for me to visit the Portland International Beerfest.
ID was check on one side of the street and then you crossed to enter.
So it was $15 to enter then you got 10 ticket – a dollar a ticket.
One entry area and exit was at the other end of the block.

There are several place to buy more sample tickets, which is good as some samples can take up to seven tickets.
There was about a dozen vendors selling food. A slice of pizza was $5.

They had lots of tables with seating but with the crowd all were occupied. The best I could find was a tree to lean against.
For three bucks you can hold a puppy and try to lessen you stress from the crowds.
They had a rotation of live bands.

I got there a half hour after it open and it was busy and got even busier before I left at six.
This event has lots of beer and interest but no way enough space.

The place was about to become one solid mass of people and that was when I left.
