I got over to the North America Organic Beer Festival to do some tasting. I went on the first day of the festival and got there shortly after they opened so there was almost no one there. I had hoped by going early I would have a chance to try all of the beers I wanted without the fear of them being out. As it turned out a couple of the beers I wanted to try had not arrive yet. So I still do not having my timing down. Of the beers I did try one was undrinkable, several were not very good, a couple were OK and only one was interesting. This is a summer beer festival so very few stouts and porters.
I was surprise to see that Roots Brewery is behind this. The brewery and pub went under several years ago.
I road my bike to the festival and parked it in their coral. In doing so I got one free tasting.
They have one point of entry and they check everyone’s ID.
The tokens tent is the next stop. Tasting cup is $6 and tastings are $1.
The beer pouring tents are at one end of the park with lots of room for standing around.
I got there shortly after they open on the first so there was no crowds.
Long line of folks ready to pour beer.
Another view of the beer servers. At this point everyone was very friendly.
The cooler refill system for the servers.
This is the covered seating area. Looks like a lot but it will be packed later
Nice area of outside seating.
There is a variety of food and other vendors.
Several conservation and green organizations had tents.
More vendors tents.
There were a variety of food vendors offering foods like roasted nuts, pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork and stir fry. If you have the money you can eat and drink a long time.
There was even ice cream for desert.
Staying with the green theme recycle station were everywhere.
When I was there things were slow so not much to for some of the volunteer.
The water tent, ready to rinse a glass or to rehydrate.
Of course after water and beer sampling they have a good collection of potable toilets.
